Text and other repetitive data can shrink substantially. Modern Office files, many PDFs, JPEG and WebP images, encoded audio and video, and existing archives are commonly compressed already, so another ZIP layer may produce a small reduction or none at all. A larger compression setting also takes more processing without guaranteeing a meaningfully smaller result.
ZIP packaging is lossless: extracting the archive restores the original file. When JPEG or WebP images are re-encoded by the image runtime, smaller settings can trade visual detail for size. The generated result uses a session-bound link, expires after 60 minutes, and is removed by the tool-result cleanup process after expiry.
Compare the size reduction with the time needed to create and extract the result. Already-compressed media may be better sent in its original format.
